Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) issued an In-House SEM Salary Survey (Organic & PPC) in order to have a better understanding of compensation and common reporting structures of in-house search marketers. The test can be conducted by all Search engine marketing professionals. Organic and/or paid-search professionals can take part in this salary survey.

Duane Forrester, co-chair of SEMPO’s In-House Committee and Search mktg Manager of Sports Direct said, “There’s no firm grasp on what’s out there. You have people who have heard stories, but it’s all third-hand information. For most other positions, you can find out the average compensation for that position, including bonus packages, broken down by geographic area. None of that exists for search.”
